The Best Couch Co-op Game You've Likely Never Played Arrives to Switch
Wizard of Legend 2, a roguelike quest about sorcerers attempting to achieve status as legends, is coming to Nintendo's console before month's end. It'll be available Nov. 25, giving enthusiasts of shared-screen titles another opportunity to discover one of the year's most impressive entries in its class.
A Rocky Start
Wizard of Legend 2 adopted the path of many niche titles. Its creators made it available in early access in October 2024 on Windows PC, ahead of launching it fully, in conjunction with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X iterations, in June 2025. When it debuted, it was widely panned. Only under 30% of its player feedback are positive. The feedback on Steam were "divided", according to close to 2,000 reviews, with many users highlighting the general lack of polish and litany of bugs initially. Those on consoles additionally condemned that the co-op feature, a key feature for the title, mostly failed.
Steady Improvements
Yet like several pre-release titles that release in unpolished conditions, Wizard of Legend 2 has gotten better. During the last several months, the development team have rolled out a series of patches intended to address these concerns. Since experiencing Wizard of Legend II more frequently than every other recent title this year, one can assert it's a bit more functional relative to upon release (on console, anyway). It's hit the level where nine times out of ten, I can actually get a cooperative run to operate. Pretty good!
If It Functions, This Game Shines
And when Wizard of Legend 2 operates, it truly delivers. Using an isometric view, you navigate magic-oriented levels by using magic in action-oriented mechanics. A great deal of dashing, lots of avoiding, plenty of timing abilities. It's extremely quick and endlessly creative; by combining your abilities with a friend's, you can unleash some devastating combinations.
Switch Version Specifics
While the Switch version hasn't been extensively tested, it's worth noting the very demanding guidelines for certification for Nintendo titles. Its creators stated in a news release that the Switch version of Wizard of Legend II features each improvement that have been applied in the current year.
