Skydance Paramount Will Eliminate Nearly 2,000 US Jobs – Report

Paramount Skydance will begin significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, cutting nearly 2,000 American roles under a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn under CEO David Ellison.

The layoffs come after the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August worth $8.4bn.

Additional overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, with Paramount Skydance aiming to reveal all specifics in its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.

Previous updates had indicated the company was looking to cut between 2,000 and 3,000 roles before the start of November.

As of December 2024, Paramount had nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff and 3,500 contract workers.

Paramount Skydance has not yet commented on the matter.
